Vertical nail ridges, which run from the cuticle to the tip of the nail, are fairly common. They don't indicate serious illness and typically increase with age. Although their exact cause isn't known, heredity may play a role.
If your fingernails change color or develop horizontal ridges, see your doctor. These changes may indicate an underlying health problem.
heres a link to a vitamin thats made to strength nails, not just to buy them just maby to get an idea of what vitemins help your nailsI have ridges in my nails whats up with that?
it's just because your nails are dehydrated. so a good buffing and drinking some water should get rid of that.
vitamin...listen to your Mom...A %26amp; D
Nail textures: Vertical ridges that appear on the nail can indicate disorders as simple as iron deficiency, poor absorption of vitamins and nutrients, overall poor health or they could indicate something as serious as kidney trouble. These vertical ridges, as well as bumpy nails, can also suggest that one is prone to developing arthritis. Ridges running horizontally across the nail can indicate physical or mental stress.
Vertical ridges are pretty common. If you want to get rid of them just use a nail buffer.
