If you are talking about the large nut that's shell is black in color and the nut is white inside the shell, it has many names, many of which are politically incorrect.
The most correct and what I believe to be the true name is a Brazil Nut.

Are you talking about the Brazil nut? The biggest nut in the mixed nuts can is usually the Brazil nut. It has the consistency of the macadamia, I think -- but it is bigger.
You're probably referring to Brazil nuts. Watch out, though, they are one of the highest in saturated fats.
